WowyWipe Care Instructions.
The way you clean your lenses — and maintain your microfiber cloth — directly impacts performance, longevity, and scratch prevention. Follow these simple guidelines to protect what you rely on every day.
WowyWipe Care Instructions.
-
You can wash your WowyWipe as many times as you want.
-
You can wash it with anything you want. WowyWipe is not affected by bleach, by fabric softener or any detergent, it is highly durable. To protect your lenses, we encourage you to wash your WowWipe often.
-
WowyWipe works best dry, no water is required.
"If your WowyWipe occasionally leaves tiny microfibers behind, it’s doing its job. Our ultra-soft WowyWool fibers are engineered to prevent scratching. Micro lint can be removed, micro scratches can’t. WowyWipe is built to protect."
Please note: You are more likely to scratch your eyeglass or camera lenses in a high-humidity environment. While humidity itself does not directly etch glass, it creates conditions that significantly increase the risk of damage.
Here is how high humidity leads to increased lens scratching:

-
Trapped Particulates: High humidity often leads to increased condensation on lenses. This moisture acts as a trap for dust, sand, and other debris, which can then be dragged across the surface of the lens when you wipe it.
-
Improper Cleaning (The Primary Cause): Because lenses in humid environments tend to fog up or get dirty with sweat/condensation, people often wipe them frequently. Wiping a wet or dirty lens with an abrasive material (like a t-shirt) instead of a clean microfiber cloth, especially when particles are present, causes micro-scratches.
-
Sand and Contaminants: In coastal or humid, dusty areas, moist air can cause contaminants to cling to surfaces. Research shows that lenses exposed to simulated beach conditions (sand + saline moisture) develop 3.7 times more micro-scratches than those in dry environments.
-
Degraded Coatings: High heat and humidity can cause lens coatings (like anti-reflective coatings) to soften or delaminate, making them more vulnerable to scratching.
How to Protect Your Lenses in High Humidity:
-
Use Microfiber Only: Never wipe lenses with clothes, paper towels, or tissues.
-
Rinse First: Always rinse off lenses with water to remove gritty, abrasive particles before wiping.
